We have ultimately opted for the less sophisticated “Passport IO” (non WiFi capable) thermostat. The primary reason is we wanted the option to have the “Fan Operation Mode” to cycle on and off with the compressor… rather than have the fan stay ON constantly when this system is ON.
We could not get that parameter to work with the more expensive/advanced unit even working with great tech support at Citimarinestore.com staff.
That energy saving option is more important than the WiFi option… since we will attempt to run this system on solar energy. The “soft start” hardware option is also acquired, and it may be installed tomorrow or the next day.
