Shelly and Ray Sirois moved from Harrison Maine to the south shore of Long Island NY the summer of 2015. They lived aboard Shellerina for the first few months, until they got keys to a winter residence nearby. The boat was a 1993 Chaparral Signature 27, powered by a single Mercruiser engine. Aboard this boat they had cruised significant portions of the Maine coast between Portland, Boothbay Harbor, Camden, Rockland, and Stonington. Then, from their new Long Island HQ, they cruised Great South Bay, Sandy Hook NJ, NYC, and the lower Hudson River to places like Haverstraw, and as far north as Kingston NY. In that boat we also cruised to Block Island and to most all the ports of eastern Long Island.
In July 2020 we upgraded to a 2000 Mainship 390 “trawler” style cruiser. On our first voyage aboard her we brought her home to Long Island from East Greenwich RI, a 150 mile journey.
In May 2021 we pushed off for a one-year cruise on America’s Great Loop! … which we finished in May 2022. Now we will follow the seasons from Maine to the Caribbean. Our new home port is in the St John’s River FL, which is where we were stationary the longest in the past 12 months.
