We rafted up today with dockmates Precious Cargo (Marc and Colleen) in Zack’s Bay nearJones Beach Island.
The trick was to see if we could raft up stern to stern. It worked fairly well. We will try it again!

anchored off Fox Island.
We are anchored at one of our common spots, but today is special in that we have Shelly’s mother Nora aboard with us! She is a lifelong boater too.
To reduce odors down in the cabin I took the day off and installed this new head up forward today. We needed the extra space down below too!!!
OK
Just kidding!
This new shower curtain in our nautically appointed home was a gift of Shelly’s MOM, Nora who is visiting us this week from Beverly MA.
Nick’s girlfriend, Mary, has great parents Steve and Cathy who we are having fun with today!
Precious Cargo is a welcomed guest here at S-Dock where she used to berth.
Enjoying the great weather rafting up with Colleen and Marc!
Dinner at Seagull – Bergen Point
We finally see some sun after a week of clouds and rain. It won’t be long though as remnants of Hurricane Florence come through in a few days.
We awoke here, on the hook, off Fox Island.
Docked aling side Precious Cargo again this Labor Day weekend. The sun keeps poking through the overcast sky. It is going to be a nice day!
One hour later…
The sun prevails!
Since the tides of Peconic Bay and Shinnecock Bay are on different cycles, the canal that connects them needs to have a set of “Locks” or controlled gates between them through which boats can be raised and lowered to the water level of the other water body.
Lisa, Richie, Shelly enjoying a staple here at The Seagull on Bergen Point. They made it here in 4 hours and 5 minutes from NH this morning!
It has been a very hot and humid week. The front passed thru today, and it is now very pleasant on Great South Bay, Long Island.
So we are back to our after-work routine of meeting at the boat for supper and often a sunset cruise.
This weekend we look forward to cruising with Shelly’s bro Richie and his honey Lisa. We are headed to Treasure Cove Marina in Riverhead, a Gr8 resort destination.
There we will meet up with several dock mates of recent pasts! Marc, Colleen, and Stephanie of Precious Cargo, also Steve and Tina of Simi.
