First time to Savannah GA downtown!

Approaching downtown’s waterfront.

A pleasant surprise: Shore Power for A/C on the last day in June. (Both 30Amp & 50Amp receptacles.) This area of town is described as the John P Rousakis Riverfront Plaza (East).

While WWG shows a “free dock” across the way, there do not appear to be any docks there to tie up. Perhaps there are cleats atop the wall; we are just not sure.
Of course we had to hang our bunting for the long July 4 weekend! All the foot traffic here on the riverfront appreciated it!
Some big boys come through this town… we need to get a loud deep frequency horn like they have!

I took an Uber ride to do some banking and more provisioning… what a sweet and beautiful city!

I found this sign… first THREE hours are free. Thereafter, it is $1.50 per foot for a 24 hour period. (Evidently, shore power is included.)

But:

Today Shelly and I walked up to the Bryan St Parking Garage, the attendant had no idea what we were talking about! “Dock fee? We don’t take money for that!” FYI: I never argue with people who do not want to take my money!

So, I guess we can afford a second dinner out on this fine town!

.

A third big boy passes by.

Time to go out for some dinner!

The two of us with our boat in the background!
Just across from the boat!

We are chowder connoisseurs. This our first Crabmeat Chowder. Excellent!

This brew was also excellent. Notice my glass is already empty. Our waitress “Jam” will take care of that!

The entrees were also delicious. Crabmeat stuffed flounder and Blackened Redfish. The sauces were both expertly crafted… and went well with their main show(s).

“Shelly” and our server “Jam”… ‘short for Jam’ LOL

Navigation Tip:

Heading north on the ICW to get to Savannah? FYI: this shortcut to the south side of Elba Island worked out perfectly well for us! Leave the ICW at mm 587.4 taking a left towards South Cannel and Elba Is. See blue arrow above.

The Elba Is bridge (covered up by the blue arrow) has 35 feet of vertical clearance.
