Long, rolly 50 mile run today. Fire Island Inlet to Shinecock Inlet. It was a borderline “no-go” day for the outside: 3 ft swells on the beam-fortunately the period was longer than predicted, 2:1 (seconds:height) which is desire-able. We only saw white caps for an hour or so. Things settled down for our entrance into Shinnecock.
We finished the day anchored in one of our favorite anchorages anywhere! West Neck Harbor – Shelter Island. Between the “forks” of eastern Long Island.
